Email/Text Marketing
Two stories here have my attention. The 1st is that
the Living Social Deal Site is having a difficult time financially and in
reading the article Groupon shares are trading much lower than expected. You
hear the horror stories about how some companies have actually been hurt
financially by these deal sites.
I think they can be served much better on a local level and
proof of that is here in this article (somewhat). Living Social doesn’t look
like it has solid legs to stand on which could mean it’s only a matter of time
allowing Local Internet Marketers an opportunity to pick up the slack - if we
can perfect the system we can offer those deals directly to the business owner. Click Here

The other is the leap Wireless article because I almost
bought the stock. Within the article they discuss the merger of Metro PCS and
T-Mobile. I was trying to get a Local Metro PCS Dealer to do business with me
regarding Local Directories. I don’t know if he knew about the merger or he
just didn’t know what he didn’t know, but I’m curious to know how the T-Mobile
Deal affects Metro’s ability to advertise or if it is run as a separate
business unit.
Regardless I’m going the 1 to 50 on this as well and
repackaging the Metro Proposal to offer to other smaller mobile phone provider.
Those would generally be the mom and pop stores trying to compete with the
larger T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint Stores. Click Here.

Local Search
We have written about the importance of being listed in the Online
Directories because of their ranking in local search engines like, Bing,
Google Places and Yahoo Local.
Local business owners are looking for targeted traffic, but
you don’t want traffic from just one source – you want traffic from as many
sources as you can get. It also helps if your traffic comes from what Google
calls “Authenticated sites” which are website, know to be reputable.
Local online business directories are “Authenticated sites” and as you can see Google gives them premium ranking in the local search category. So you could pretty much dominate local search and the first page of Google if you were verified in let’s say conservatively 20 local
directories and have a business listing with Google, Bing Business and Yahoo Local. So what is your Marketing Strategy?
Fun Facts:
- There are 2.6 Billion local searches each month
- 30% of those searches contain City, State and Zip Code.
We’ve discussed the role that mobile or smart phones are
playing in today’s society and not just with the young. Parents and
grandparents are connected as well – and we should probably consider it would
have been the parent that bought their child their first mobile phone.
Our goal at DCSProvidence is to help you convert those visitors into paying customers. We
can create a Lead Gen Website and marketing campaign designed to keep you
engaged with your customers at all levels of the campaign we design.
The internet has now surpassed print Yellow Pages and
Newspaper as a primary source of local consumer information and Dot Com Secrets Providence is giving
the Local Business Owner a chance to compete on a global scale, but to a local
market. Sign up, claim your listing and be seen!
